8 Weeks Peanut...8 weeks! Well at least we hope only 8 weeks. We'll take what you give us as long as you're healthy, and I might regret saying that when it's 9 but I'll try to understand if you want to take your time and appreciate the fact that you're healthy.
We had a check up today and got GREAT news...I do not have gestational diabetes! We were tested early at 18 weeks because of a family history. Then at 26 weeks we had the 1 hour glucose test, which came back 9 points higher than the cut off...so a week and a half ago your daddy and I went to the hospital for the 3 hour fasting glucose test. It was not fun Peanut, but today we were told that all 4 blood draws came back in the right range! No borderlines. It's a relief =)
We also talked to JoJean about lots of questions mommy had and now I feel better about pain options, pediatricians and a few other concerns. You sounded great, but were shy again, really active while we were waiting and still as a can be when we listened to your heart, but it's beating strong at 144, then just as crazy again once we were done putting you on the spot. I wonder if this means you're going to be a shy baby! I also got a flu shot...just the regular flu shot, the H1N1 shot is not available and they aren't sure they'll get it. I'll tell you all about H1N1 when you're older and we look through your baby book.
Daddy spent the evening with Johnny Smith staining your dresser! I can't wait to see it. It's at Johnny's house drying and he's going to put the finish coats on it later this week. Hopefully we can have it all set up in your room by the end of the weekend. Mommy is planning on doing A LOT of your laundry this weekend so you'll have fresh clothes when you come home. We're also hoping to set up your crib this weekend. We'll see if that happens, but I'd like to done so after your baby shower we can put stuff away and not have to sort stuff twice!
Speaking of baby showers...yours is right around the corner, which means A LOT of people are going to be visiting and I'm so excited for you to hear their voices for the first time :) Grandma Middleton (who was affectionately named GGMa by Dakota) will be coming on Oct. 7 for 3 WEEKS! I am very excited about this, hopefully sometime before you're one we'll be able to see her either in Port Huron again or in New Mexico. Also, Aunt Caitlin is coming home from Maryland...I haven't seen her since the weekend we told her about you! And of course Aunt Emily will be driving down and Aunt Tracy and Aunt Kim will be driving up =) And to top off all the excitement, your grandma Mayhew is also flying in for the weekend! So on top of your out of town guests there will be a lot more people joining us to celebrate!!!!! Daddy and I are excited to see everyone, it should be a fun time.
We're slowly getting ready for you, but every once in a while (o.k. more like 10-20 times a day) I wonder where the time went! We have lots to do, but I'm confident we'll get a lot done this weekend, and we have a carseat for you! And a stroller that matches, which I'm afraid because of your impending birth day, will be stored for a while! And I didn't realize how much I had, but you have a VERY sizeable wardrobe...I can't wait to dress you in all the cute little clothes!
I'm glad you're growing well and we're on track...and remember if you want to come a little early, say in 7 weeks, we'll be ready by then! Daddy and I can NOT wait to meet you and see your precious face.
Sleep well my little break dancer
xoxo

Hey Peanut and the Gang (I mean Parents)!!
ReplyDeleteWhere has the time gone? Eight more weeks (give or take a few days) is just crazy. Can't believe you are almost here and I haven't even gotten to feel or see you kick your mommy in the tummy yet. What's up with that???
As you mommy said there will be lots of new faces around next week for several days, hope you aren't too overwhelmed with all the commotion, we will try to keep it down a little, but not too much because your mommy and aunts are a loud bunch when they get together.
Last but not least, I am so happy to hear that your mommy does not have gestational diabetes. It truly is no fun at all and leads down a path she really doesn't need to take.
You get bigger and sleep well, cuz your day is coming up really soon. I love you Moses!!!
Hugs, kisses, misses,
Grammy
P.S. I still can't seem to get the vote to go in my favor, but there are 4 of us who want to keep your name Moses!!!
Peanut Carter,
ReplyDeleteLet me start by saying, to be honest, I think my vote for your name has changed... I honestly like Peanut Carter Mayhew... Why change it? But I'll be happy with what your parent's decide and know it will be a great name. Plus it's not the name that makes the person. It's the person that makes the name!!! Remember that. I am the one person in your life who will always try to throw a positive spin on anything. So if you ever need encouragement I'm your aunt! But I thought just the day before your mommy posted this that I couldn't believe we were just about 2 months from having you! How time flew and how I missed pretty much all of it. I have not been around to see any of your progress since, like your mommy said, the day I found out about you on my last visit to Michigan back in March! But as much as I missed everything along the way, I've gotten to hear all about it from everyone and your mommy would have killed me had I changed my plans once we found out about you. I'll explain to you when you're old enough, the lessons on tough decisions! And you'll learn one day how I ended up where I did and what a great opportunity it has been for me as much as I am missing back home. I will be home for the shower next weekend which I think your mommy is going to love and then I'll be home again to see you at Christmas! And as your mommy prepares to get ready for you, I am too! I just packed all your stuff up that I've been getting and I may need to check a bag just for you:-) Ok maybe not but your pile of clothes is about 5 times the size of mine! So I've really been going out and enjoying every minute of buying you cute clothes. And hopefully your mommy and daddy will have your room all set up. I am going to be staying with them while I am home next weekend so your ggma can stay with grammie and grampy and Aunt Roo. I'm going to be staying in your room so I'll test it out and let you know how it is but I'm sure it will be great. You'll be hearing my voice a lot next weekend and I'm hoping you'll get excited the first time you hear it when your mommy picks me up from the airport! I'm just looking forward to being back home for a few days and to throw you and your mommy this wonderful party. And to see everyone. I know you'll come when your good and ready. And I'll be anxiously waiting as November comes upon us for that phone call telling me you've arrived to make this world a better place. And tell your mommy not to worry about the stroller being in hibernation for the winter. It will get plenty of use when I can convince your parent's to bring you out here! I am truly looking forward to your arrival and all the joy and happiness you'll bring to my big sister (your mommy) and to the rest of us. I love and miss you so much but know there are tons of great people right by you and your mommy to help along the way. So I have no worries both of you are in good hands. I'll see you next week. My love to you and to your mommy! Love,
Aunt Caitlin (Caitie)
