Baby Mayhew...today is October 1. It's an important day, today would have been your great grandma Carter's 85th birthday. Unfortunately she passed away...but I wanted you to know she was an amazing lady and for the short period of time she was in your mommy's life she loved us more than you could ever imagine. I am confident that you'll feel the same love from all of your grandparents that your mommy felt from her (maybe one of them will even share some pickle juice with you, like she did!).
Say a prayer for her today...I know she and all of your great grandparents who passed before meeting you or your daddy are going to keep a good eye on you from their seats in heaven.

Peanut Carter,
ReplyDeleteYour great grandma Carter was truly an amazing lady for the short time we all knew her. Her memory lives on very clearly in all our lives even though she has been gone for over 20 years. And October, the month of her birth has become increasingly important to all of us as this is Breast Cancer Awareness month and that is what she passed from. Your mommy even took great strides a few years ago to participate in the Breast Cancer 3 Day walk. Even though she didn't make it all the way, due to injury, she is to be admired for her drive and determination to even sign up and attempt 60 miles in 3 days. We will share our memories with you as you grow. But just remember, if none of your grandparent's will share the pickle juice with you... Just go to your Cousin Dakota. He loves pickles and I'm sure would be more than happy and thrilled to pass on his love to you. Just make sure he doesn't turn you on to lemons!!! And last but not least, I'll definitely be sharing with you the memory of Hostess Orange Cupcakes. The one thing I cannot live without thanks to your Great Grandma Carter! She used to buy them for me all the time at the Hostess outlet on the way to their house and to this day, I prefer them over the choclate ones! All my love peanut.
Aunt Caitlin
Dear Peanut,
ReplyDeleteYour Mommy and Aunt Caitlin are right with their comments about your Great Grandma Carter. They make me cry. She was so proud of her grandchildren and happiest that she was at last a grandmother!!!
Hugs, kisses, skwishes,
